Panga | No Rating Movie Review | Kangana Ranaut | Jassie Gill | Richa Chadha | Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari

Updated on Feb 22, 2020 05:13 pm IST

Panga is an honest, relatable film and a sincere ode to motherhood and those countless sacrifices that a woman makes for her family. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Panga presents the finer points of our daily lives as compelling cinema. It is also the story of hope and how dreams don't come with an expiry date. Jaya Nigam played by Kangana, a middle-class woman working in Northern Railways, is a former kabaddi champion. While she continued playing the sport after her marriage to Prashant played by Jassie Gill, she leaves her dream midway after she becomes a mother. Seven years later, when her son Adi played by Yagya Bhasin gets to know 'all that his mom could do but didn't' because she chose her family over her passion, he decides to push her to make a comeback, at the age of 32. What begins as Jaya's efforts to please her son soon reignites something deeper within her. She decides to earn a spot in the national kabaddi team while managing her domestic responsibilities. A wholesome family entertainer, Panga is a must watch for the way it's told and for being real from the word go.
