'Why I've come down...': Sonu Sood on I-T raids, ₹20 crore tax evasion charge

• Sonu Sood has spoken up against the income tax department's tax evasion allegations. Denying charges, the actor said 'not even a single penny has come to my account’. The tax dept had last week conducted multiple searches at properties linked to Sood. “Not even a single penny has come to my account & it can't be,” he said. Sood earlier issued a statement saying every penny will eventually be spent on humanitarian causes. The Central Board of Direct Taxes has alleged that Sonu & his associates evaded tax of ₹20 crore. The actor has been raising funds to help those in need of assistance during Covid-19 pandemic. He is under I-T scanner after the Kejriwal govt picked him as face for its mentorship initiative.
