Ernesto Valverde hails Barcelona’s fighting spirit in 2-2 draw vs Real Madrid

Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde lauded his side for taking the game to Real Madrid despite playing the second half with ten men and eventually holding out for a 2-2 draw in their La Liga clash on Sunday. “I want to talk about the effort the team made. We played with 10 men against Real Madrid and we all know what that means to play with 10 men against Real Madrid. We had to get over that but it is also true we wanted to win, and we had chances. Both teams had chances, we had the clearest ones,” he told reporters after the game.
