However, how do the two compare to one another as far as their on-field behavior? Former La Liga referee Itturalde Gonzalez shared his thoughts on the two football mega-stars. “Messi is a delight to referee. A gentleman. 100 percent fair play,” said Gonzalez. He also defends Ronaldo from diving allegations. “Tell me an attacking player who isn't theatrical. It's not because it's Cristiano Ronaldo.
