Hijab Vs Saffron: Karnataka HC says, 'No religious dress till Feb 14'

- Karnataka's controversy over Hijab has now taken a stunning turn. The Karnataka High Court in its interim order has restrained students from wearing any kind of religious clothing (Hijab or Saffron shawls) on college campuses till Feb 14. In its interim order, the High Court noted that it wants peace and tranquillity and allowed colleges to reopen in the state but did not allow any religious dress. The next hearing in the case will be held on February 14. Following the high court's orders, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that schools for Class IX and X will reopen from Monday but colleges across the state will remain shut until further orders.
