Hungarian Minister Janos Boka criticized the recent White House summit, claiming EU leaders were “publicly humiliated” by US President Donald Trump during their visit to Washington, DC, for Ukraine security talks. On the Warriors’ Hour podcast, Boka described EU leaders being seated in lower chairs and scolded like "kindergarteners," arguing the summit resulted in no meaningful agreements and left European officials scrambling to explain the visit’s purpose. Boka also accused the European Commission of “taking sides” after Ukrainian drone strikes on the key Druzhba pipeline—claiming EU institutions defended Ukraine over member states harmed by energy disruptions. He asserted that Ukraine deliberately targeted Hungarian and Slovak energy interests for political leverage. Trump later sent an angry handwritten note to PM Orban, and Hungary’s defense minister demanded Ukraine stop risking Hungary’s energy security, blaming EU approval for the strikes. The dispute further undermined Budapest’s support for Zelensky’s EU membership aspirations.
