Congress MP P Chidambaram alleged that "ethnic cleansing is complete" in violence-hit Manipur's capital, Imphal. Chidambaram cited The Hindu's report, which alleges that the last five Kuki families in Imphal were forcibly removed from their homes by the authorities. The Congress leader said, "There can be nothing more shameful than this development; it marks a new low in India's descent into lawlessness. Manipur has been on the boil since May 3.
