Greed for 5 kg gold led father to sacrifice 15-year-old daughter

In a shocking incident, a father in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj allegedly allowed an exorcist to sacrifice his 15-year-old daughter on the pretext of getting 5-kg gold buried in a field. The Exorcist advised Mahaveer and his wife that if they sacrificed their daughter, they would get five kilos of buried gold within hours of the ritual. Giving details, Superintendent of Police Harish Chander said the victim was assaulted and it was the greed of 5 kg of buried gold that made her father take such a step. The Exorcist has also been taken into custody and a case has been registered in this regard.
