Mizoram Election Results 2018: MNF leading in Mizoram, people celebrate

People celebrate outside MNF's office as party leads in early trends in Mizoram. The Mizo National Front (MNF), which had been out of power in Mizoram since 2008, was leading in 29 seats, way ahead of the ruling Congress with six as counting of votes in the Mizoram assembly polls. Voting to elect a new 40-member assembly had taken place on November 28. The MNF is leading in 29 seats and Congress in 5. The BJP is leading in one seat and others in five.
