‘Neki Ki Dukan’: A shop that provides you everything for just Rs. 10

In a bid to help underprivileged people, a non-governmental organisation in Ludhiana has opened a shop where every item is available for just Rs 10.The shop stocks everything from clothes, shoes, toys, books, utensils and home furnishings. The items are mostly second-hand goods and cater to hundreds of customers every day. The NGO started working in 2014 with more than 250 members and are providing free medical treatment to needy people. One of the members of the NGO Barjendir Singh said the name was coined with an aim to do good deed and to help the needy people, irrespective of their religion. One of the customers said, “It is a nice initiative to help the needy. These kinds of shops should be opened in every corner of the country for the benefit of the poor population.” The shop opens for sale only between 6 pm to 7 pm every day.
