PM on I-Day: We criminalised triple talaq, gave justice to Muslim women

PM Modi reiterated his stand that the Triple Talaq bill was aimed at providing justice to Muslim women and had no political connotations. He also cited several Islamic countries where the archaic practise has been criminalised. PM added that the country had raised its voice against the practice of Sati, and there was no reason why the country should not have abolished Triple talaq.
