Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was flown in a French military plane on Tuesday. He was travelling from Paris to the Merignac air base near Bordeaux to take delivery of the first Rafale fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force. India had inked a pact with France for the purchase of 36 Rafale jets. Singh earlier held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, where a 'comprehensive discussion' took place on a variety of issues. The Indian defence minister is on a three-day visit to France.
