Sonia Gandhi slams Modi government at Rajiv Gandhi anniversary event

Interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi slammed the Modi government at the 75th birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. Speaking after the arrest of former finance minister P Chidambaram in connection with the INX Media case, Sonia said that Rajiv Gandhi too came to power with a huge mandate but he never used his power to curb people's freedom and create an atmosphere of fear. She also urged party members to reaffirm their resolve to stand up and confront forces determined to destroy values enshrined in the constitution.
