‘Target 1 lakh a day tests by May 31’: Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan

Speaking on Covid-19 situation, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that India targets to conduct one lakh tests per day by May 31. “We will be able to produce RT-PCR and antibody test kits in India by May. All processes are in advanced stage and production will start after getting approval from ICMR,” he said. Harsh Vardhan also interacted with Autonomous Institutes and PSUs under Department of Biotechnology via video conferencing. India has so far recorded over 29,400 infections and more than 900 deaths.
