Updated on Aug 10, 2017 04:56 pm IST

A Chandigarh court remanded Vikas, the son of Haryana chief Subhash Barala, and his friend, Ashish Kumar, in two days' police custody on Thursday for allegedly stalking a woman last week. Upon being confronted with CCTV footage of the incident, Vikas reportedly admitted that he was the one driving the Tata Safari Storme SUV that pursued Kundu for 20 minutes. The two were re-arrested and charged with the attempted abduction of the victim – 29-year-old disc jockey Varnika Kundu – on Wednesday, after the Chandigarh police were accused of going soft on them.
