Watch | CISF to recruit more dog squads for securing the third phase of Delhi Metro

Updated on Oct 13, 2016 04:13 pm IST

The DMRC, in its third phase, is adding 107 stations. These will span over an area of over 159 kms. But it would be a task for CISF to ensure safe and fearless travel to commuters. For this, they are increasing the number of dog squads. CISF last month purchased eight dogs, five Labra dogs and three German Shephard. They are now training in bomb detection in Indirapuram centre. Dogs play the most important role in bomb detection because their reaction time is faster. After 6 months of training, they would be ready to guard stations. Four more dogs would be added in the next batch and twelve more in next one year. These dogs start their day at 7:00 am and end at 11 pm on a shift basis. CISF will also be buying special bomb defusal squad vehicles that have space for dog carrier
