Congress and Army want continuation of AFSPA in J&K: National Conference

The National Conference has recently said that the Congress and Army are against the partial revocation of anti militancy law i.e. Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Jammu and Kashmir. While, slamming the Indian Army for opposing the withdrawal of AFSPA in Jammu and Kashmir the party said that the Army is behaving a stumbling block with an intention of misusing the law of AFSPA. General Secretary of National Conference Mustafa Kamal said that Congress for its own political agendas is not supporting the partial revocation. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah had said that AFSPA Act would soon be revoked from areas where the presence of the Army is not required.
