Rahul Gandhi: JNU crackdown is a blot on India’s image

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi met President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday over the JNU row and the alleged targeting of students in various parts of the country. Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, he said the incident is a “blot” on India's image. He further said that RSS and Centre are trying to impose their ideology on the entire nation and Congress will not let it happen. Gandhi also sought President Mukherjee's intervention for immediate action to “check the
state of lawlessness and subversion of democratic rights”.
