The $18BN multi-role fighter aircraft project was announced by New Delhi in April 2018. Lockheed Martin is banking on joint ventures with the Tata Group to boost the F-21 bid. The F-21 fighter aircraft is configurable with the triple missile launch adapter. Conformal fuel tanks enable greater range penetration and loiter persistence. The F-21 is the only fighter in the world with probe/drogue and boom aerial refueling. Long range IRST & AESA radar (nearly 2x range of mechanically scanned array radars).
