More than 20,000 Pakistani nationals were deported from six Gulf countries between March 1 and July 13, according to figures presented to Pakistan’s National Assembly. Saudi Arabia accounted for the largest share, followed by the UAE and Oman. Authorities cited immigration violations, security concerns, criminal cases, absconding, visa violations and other offenses among the reasons for the expulsions. The figures also include some Pakistanis detained or deported over videos related to the Iran conflict. The development puts renewed attention on Pakistan’s ties with Gulf states and the tightening of immigration and security controls across the region. Watch the full breakdown and key numbers.
