India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar visited Moscow for high-level talks, underscoring the “special and privileged strategic partnership” between Russia and India. The discussions focused on intensifying political dialogue, expanding bilateral trade, strengthening energy, industrial, and defense cooperation, and enhancing transport and logistics links, including the North-South corridor and Northern Sea Route. Jaishankar met with senior Russian officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s planned visit to India in December for the upcoming summit in New Delhi. Both sides also exchanged views on the complex global situation, including the Ukraine conflict, the Middle East, and Afghanistan, emphasizing constructive approaches to peace. Coordination on multilateral platforms such as the UN, BRICS, SCO, and G20 remains a key priority to advance regional stability and joint development projects.
