Maduro gone, who's next on US' target list? Colombia breaks silence after Petro-Trump flashpoint

Colombia’s Defence Minister Pedro Arnulfo Sanchez says he does not believe the United States will attack Colombia, despite recent threats from President Donald Trump suggesting Colombia could be a next target after Venezuela’s crisis. Sanchez, speaking in Bogotá, stressed that Colombia remains a strategic partner in combating drug trafficking and said cooperation with U.S. agencies continues, dismissing fears of military retaliation. Tensions grew after Trump labelled Colombia a “sick country” and floated military action, but diplomatic engagement has since increased, including a planned Petro visit to the White House. Sanchez emphasised that Colombia’s main security challenges are internal, not external.
