Mystery mass jailbreak by 1,500 ISIS terrorists amid 'western agent' rumour

The Kurdish-led SDF says around 1,500 ISIS-linked inmates escaped from the Shaddadi prison in Hasakah province in a coordinated assault that exploited renewed civil conflict, prompting Syria’s army to impose an emergency curfew in Al‑Shaddadi after clashes erupted between government troops and Kurdish forces. The jailbreak came as Syrian President Ahmad al‑Sharaa held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, with a Syrian presidency statement saying both leaders reaffirmed Syria’s territorial integrity, vowed continued cooperation against ISIS, and stressed protecting Kurdish rights “within the framework of the Syrian state.”
