The Narendra Modi government is also set to notify rules for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act before the Lok Sabha elections 2024. NDTV and the Indian Express reported that these rules will be put in place before the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) comes into effect. Most number of applicants under the new law are from Pakistan, reports say. Watch this video for more details.
