Congress veteran Madhavsinh Solanki dies; PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi condole death

- Senior Congress leader Madhavsinh Solanki died on Saturday at the age of 93. Solanki was the former External Affairs Minister, who also served as the Gujarat CM for four times. The veteran leader breathed his last at his residence in Gandhinagar on Saturday morning. PM Narendra Modi condoled the death of the Congress veteran on Twitter. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also took to Twitter to express condolences. Solanki had served as External Affairs Minister from June 1991 to March 1992. The senior Congress leader was also a two-term MP of Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. Solanki had been the longest serving chief minister of the state before PM Modi became CM. The Congress veteran's son Bharatsinh Solanki is also a former union minister.
