  • Delhi govt announced a series of measures to be implemented amid rising pollution after SC prod. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a one-week action plan to be implemented from Monday. As per Delhi CM, no physical classes will be held in Delhi schools for one week. Delhi govt decided to switch to 'work from home' for 100% of the workforce starting from Monday. Private offices in the national capital have been advised to switch to 'work from home' option as much as possible. According to the Delhi government, no construction activity will be allowed between November 14 and 17 in the national capital. Kejriwal's action plan came after SC termed the pollution situation in Delhi-NCR as 'emergency' & suggested clamping a lockdown. Kejriwal said they're drafting a proposal which will be placed in front of the SC regarding measures to curb the pollution. He warned if the situation worsens further in the capital, his government will stop construction & vehicular movement. Pollution situation in Delhi-NCR turned severe after Diwali & was further aggravated by stubble burning. Due to the worsening situation, the central pollution control board advised people not to venture outdoors.
