'Had I known...': Mamata on NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu

Former governor Draupadi Murmu, the official candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has a better chance of winning the coming presidential election, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said in Kolkata on Friday afternoon at a Rathyatra event. Virtually conceding defeat, Banerjee, who nominated her party’s national vice-president and former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha as the candidate of the opposition parties, said she could have considered Murmu as the consensus candidate had the BJP told her about its plans.
