Iran threatens France over Charlie Hebdo’s ‘offensive’ cartoons of Khamenei | Hijab Stir

Iran has warned France of consequences after satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo published "insulting" cartoons depicting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The weekly had published dozens of cartoons mocking Iran's highest religious and political figure over the country's anti-hijab movement. Iran's foreign ministry said that France has no right to insult the sanctities of other Muslim countries and nations under the pretext of freedom of expression. Iran's Foreign Ministry has also summoned French Ambassador Nicolas Roche over the issue. So far, the French government has not spoken on the latest cartoon controversy.
