- J&K police versus AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi's faceoff over the closure of Srinagar's Jamia Masjid erupts. J&K police refuted the "rumour floated by Owaisi" that Jamia Masjid is closed for prayers. In a strong rebuttal, J&K police said that Jamia Masjid, which is the largest mosque in the Union Territory, is "fully open" for worshippers. The cops also asked Owaisi to "behave responsibly" and "resist from making false statements". The row erupted after Owaisi tagged J&K L-G on Twitter in response to a post on the reopening of cinema halls in Kashmir and questioned the "closure" of Srinagar's Jamia Masjid on Fridays.
