Rubio comments on Modi-Pezeshkian meeting as India reaffirms plans to expand trade with Iran

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has questioned whether India and Iran are currently negotiating a trade deal, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Bishkek. Rubio said countries can pursue their own foreign policies but warned against helping Iran evade US sanctions. Meanwhile, PM Modi reiterated India’s commitment to strengthening ties with Iran and expanding bilateral trade.
