'Yoga a ray of hope as world fights Covid-19': PM Modi on International Yoga Day

PM Modi addressed the 7th International Yoga Day programme on Monday. PM said yoga remains a 'ray of hope' as the world fights the coronavirus pandemic. PM asserted that in these difficult times it has become a source of inner strength. PM Modi also announced the launch of M-Yoga app in collaboration with WHO. M-Yoga app will have videos on yoga training based on common yoga protocol. The seventh International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the world today. This is the 2nd consecutive year that celebrations are being held digitally due to Covid. The theme of the 7th International Yoga Day programme is 'Yoga for wellness’. On December 11, 2014, UNGA had declared June 21 as ‘International Day of Yoga’. According to Ayush ministry, the day is being observed in about 190 countries.
