Russia has passed a new law allowing the country’s central bank, Sberbank, and select financial institutions to deploy anti-drone systems and arm authorised personnel as Ukrainian strikes penetrate deeper into Russian territory. According to reports by the Financial Times, the move reflects growing concern inside Moscow over Kyiv’s expanding long-range drone campaign targeting strategic infrastructure, energy facilities, and military-linked sites. Russian officials say jamming systems and drone defence equipment will now protect key financial hubs, while businesses complain the Kremlin has provided little direct support for corporate drone security. The development comes after reports of attacks on facilities in Crimea and growing fears over vulnerabilities inside Russia’s domestic security network.
