Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin met in Hangzhou for the 30th annual China-Russia heads of government meeting, reaffirming their nations’ “strategic partnership” amid global tensions. Li pledged to deepen cooperation “in all areas” including security, while Mishustin hailed ties as being at “their highest level in centuries.” Both leaders highlighted progress in energy, transport, agriculture, and industrial collaboration, as well as a new investment protection agreement taking effect December 1. The meeting underscored expanding bilateral cooperation despite Western sanctions.
