Rahul Gandhi attacks India-US trade deal, Lok Sabha ruckus turns into full-blown political brawl

A light but telling flashpoint in the Lok Sabha came over the casual word “yaar”, which briefly became the centre of a noisy exchange between the Chair and the Opposition. As Congress MPs protested that Rahul Gandhi was speaking on national security, K C Venugopal, seated beside him, exclaimed, “What is this, yaar?”, prompting the presiding officer Krishna Prasad Tenneti to object that such slang was inappropriate in Parliament and to admonish him from the Chair.
