Russian Kinzhals pound Kharkiv? Kyiv's big charge as multiple dead after Putin confirms revenge plot

Ukraine says two Russian missiles hit a Kharkiv apartment block on January 2, killing a woman and her son and injuring at least 25 in a blaze that left residents trapped under rubble, while Russia’s Defence Ministry denies launching any strikes in the city that day, alleging instead that Ukrainian ammunition detonated there and insisting that its “one massive and six group” high‑precision “revenge” strikes—including Kinzhal missiles—were directed at defence, energy, transport, drone and ammunition targets across Ukraine in response to New Year period “terrorist attacks,” including the deadly Khorly incident and an alleged attempt on Putin’s life.
