Asian Games 2018: Can Saina, Sindhu & Kidambi break India’s single jinx?
Updated on Aug 13, 2018 05:50 pm IST
India has a strong pool of players in badminton who will be fighting for medals. PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal are two players who will be looking to win India's maiden women's singles medal at the Asian Games. The duo faced off in the final of the Commonwealth Games earlier this year, with the more experienced Nehwal coming out on top. Kidambi Srikanth will look to win India's first men's singles medal since Syed Modi won a bronze in the 1982 games. India had won a women's team bronze in the 2014 Asian Games. Former badminton star Vimal Kumar is hopeful that Indian athletes will come back with medals despite the tough competition.
