Another World Cup, another failure for Brazil. Four years ago at home they were humiliated with a 7-1 defeat in the semi-final to Germany. This time around in Russia they were beaten 2-1 by Belgium in the quarter-finals. The last time the “Selecao” made it to the decisive match of the tournament was in 2002, when they beat Germany 2-0. “I'm so disappointed. It was not the football we were expecting from Brazil, there was a lack of football. They didn't believe in themselves as much as we believe in them. The coach (Tite) is not guilty. There is no guilt, but there was just a lack of football” said Marcus Oliveira, a 31 years old professor of Jiu-jitsu who attended the game in downtown Rio de Janeiro alongside thousands of other supporters.
