‘Here to bring pride to my country’: Amit Panghal after winning Asian Games gold

Amit Panghal defeated reigning Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov to claim the gold medal in 49kg boxing at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta on Saturday. The 22-year old Panghal looked in brilliant form throughout the bout and in the end, he was able to clinch the encounter by split decision (3-2). Amit, making his debut at the Games, showed immense tactical brilliance, especially in defence to outwit the Uzbek, who has an iconic status in international boxing. Dusmatov won a silver in the world championship last year.
