Universe Boss Chris Gayle returned for Kings XI Punjab as they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 wickets in Sharjah. RCB won the toss and opted to bat first. Virat Kohli top-scored with 48 off 39 balls. A 35-run 7th wicket stand between Chris Morris (25*) and Isuru Udana (10*) helped RCB scoring 171/6 in 20 overs. In reply, Kings XI Punjab chased down the target with 8 wickets in hand. KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 61 off 49 balls while Gayle slammed 53 off 45 deliveries. For KXIP, Mohammed Shami (2/45) and Murugan Ashwin (2/23) scalped two wickets each while Arshdeep Singh (1/20) and Chris Jordan (1/20) settled with a wicket apiece.
