India suffer ODI series whitewash against New Zealand

“This was the first dead rubber for Virat Kohli after 17 series as ODI captain. One expected India would avoid the ignominy of 3-0 whitewash but they were humbled by the host on the same ground where they had registered the 5-0 win in T20 series. India started disastrously by losing top 3 inside 13 overs and for just 62 runs but in-form KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyar rescued India. However, India were always short of 20 odd runs and poor fielding and ordinary bowling, particularly by the seamers ensured India losing by 5 wickets.”
