Sardar Patel cricket stadium in Motera renamed Narendra Modi stadium

The world's largest cricket stadium in Gujarat's Ahmedabad has been renamed Narendra Modi Stadium. President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the newly revamped stadium in an event that was also attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, along with the Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah. ‘This stadium was conceptualised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. He was president of the Gujarat Cricket Association at that time,’ President Kovind said. Home Minister Amit Shah said that the stadium was conceptualised when Narendra Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat and added that Ahmedabad will now be known as the sports city in India.
