Wimbledon 2021: Ashleigh Barty defeats Karolina Pliskova to win her maiden title

Top seed Australia tennis player Ashleigh Barty won her maiden Wimbledon title on Saturday. Barty beat Czech Republic's Karolina Pliskova 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 in the summit clash at Centre Court. This is the first time a Wimbledon women's final went to a third & deciding set since 2012. In 2012, Serena Williams had defeated Agnieszka Radwanska in three sets at the women's final. Barty had won the US Open title in 2018 & with Wimbledon, she won her second Grand Slam title.
