World Cup match fixing allegations insult to national team: N Srinivasan
Updated on Nov 11, 2012 09:13 pm IST
BCCI President N Srinivasan today rubbished the allegations made by a British newspaper that the semi-final match of World Cup 2011 between Pakistan and India was fixed. Baffled by the allegations Srinivasan said that the baseless claims were an insult to the national squad. According to media reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has also rejected the claims while refusing to initiate action without concrete evidence. A British newspaper had published extracts of a book by sports-betting journalist Ed Hawkins in which he claimed an Indian bookmaker had accurately predicted what would happen in Pakistan's innings against their archrivals.
