Temple in Karachi vandalised by bike-borne miscreants; Hindus targeted in Pak

- A Hindu temple was vandalised in Pakistan on Thursday night sparking fear and panic among the minority Hindu community there. As per report, 5-6 bike-borne miscreants stormed into Shri Mari Maata Mandir in Karachi last night and desecrated the temple. Police have filed a case. This is yet another example of growing intolerance against minorities in Pakistan. Temples belonging to the minority Hindu population in Pakistan are often the target of mob violence. In October, a historical temple located at the bank of the Indus River in Kotri was allegedly desecrated by unidentified people. In August, dozens of people reportedly vandalised a Hindu temple in the town of Bhong and blocked the Sukkur-Multan Motorway after an eight-year-old Hindu boy, who had allegedly urinated in a local seminary, was granted bail by a local court.
