US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright’s admitted Washington “meticulously planned” for Hormuz to be hit, “knew” there would be short‑term energy shock, and is now rushing to end the war “in the next few weeks” as prices spike and tankers sit idle. Wright promised that a global coalition – including China, Japan, South Korea and other Asian importers – will help reopen the Strait, and that oil and gasoline prices will soon fall back once the conflict ends.
