Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said the retail sector has become a key driver of the national economy, making a significant contribution to the country's GDP, while speaking in Caracas on Tuesday. Rodriguez reported that the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL) ranked Venezuela among the region's fastest-growing economies. On the trade sector, the VP noted that it has grown by nearly eight per cent of GDP "despite disruptions, difficulties, threats, and psychological warfare," referring to the US military presence in the Caribbean.
