'We can win in Ukraine… instead we’re pouring money into Iran': senators grill Hegseth over $37. 5 bn

In a Senate hearing, War Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers the Iran war has cost an estimated 37.5 billion dollars so far in its fifth month, a figure that includes current spending and anticipated costs such as operations and maintenance and military pay through the end of the fiscal year, while Senators pressed him and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. John Caine on why money is flowing faster to the Iran campaign than to Ukraine’s air defenses, on the risks of any ground escalation in Iran.
