Who is Vinay Kwatra: Ex-PMO man named India’s New Foreign Secretary

Career diplomat Vinay Kwatra has been appointed as India’s next foreign secretary. Kwatra, currently the envoy to Nepal, has considerable expertise in dealing with the U.S and China. Kwatra will be taking over as the foreign secretary amid India’s military standoff with China along the LAC. Kwatra will succeed Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who is set to retire at the end of April. An officer of the 1988 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, Kwatra served as joint secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office from October 2015 to August 2017. Watch the full video for more.
