6 months after an earthquake in Mexico, some still camp outside homes

Six months after an earthquake in Mexico killed hundreds, some displaced residents are still living in improvised camps outside their damaged homes and say they are struggling to make ends meet. Improvised camps are among the most visible signs that not everyone has moved on from the earthquake that killed 228 people in the capital and 141 more elsewhere. Mexico City Reconstruction Commissioner Edgar Oswaldo Tungui Rodriguez said there are 27 such camps around the capital, but denied that people were living in any of them. Rather, he said, quake victims had just posted guards to watch over their property. But camps visited by the Associated Press showed a different situation.
