Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif brought up the topic of Kashmir during his four-day visit to China. In a joint statement, China and Pakistan stated that on June 8, 2024, they were against any kind of "unilateral action" to resolve any unresolved concerns in South Asia. China claimed that the Jammu and Kashmir conflict was a holdover from the past and that it ought to be settled amicably and appropriately in line with the UN Charter, pertinent decisions of the UN Security Council, and bilateral agreements.
